The Program

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program consists of exercising three times a week for one hour per session, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Morning and afternoon classes are offered. Weekly educational classes are available.

Staff includes registered nurses, and exercise specialist, and a cardiologist. Direct access is available to dietitians, social workers, pharmacists, and other related specialties that pertain to your recovery as a heart patient.

Insurance coverage

A hospital patient representative (777-8208) can determine the extent of coverage available to you. Cardiac rehabilitation is covered under most major medical plans.

Your cardiologist or your primary care physician will need to send a referral and your medical records to the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at St. Mary’s. You will also need to complete a pre-entry exercise test to help us determine an accurate and safe exercise prescription for you.
